Roxy wasn't feeling very well last night,but that didn't stop her from having a good time laughing with Mommy!

February 2012

Phew! We're getting caught up...

February has been a month of ups and downs so far. Roxy started sitting up without support (we still put a pillow behind her sometimes - makes us nervous). She started swim lessons - hooray! She is a little fish - like her mama. She is also tall enough now to use her saucer. She loves it!

On Saturday, February 4th, Great Grandma Fay passed away. We were so glad to have been able to see her in December and to have her meet Roxy. We went out for the service and got to spend time with family - special time. You can see some pics of Roxy and Ronan sleeping in Grandma's house. It was wonderful to get to see Uncle Joel and Aunt Joan, and cousins Ali and Zach. And Aunt Helen was a gracious host letting us stay at her house.

January 2012

After a crazy November and December, we settled into a more quiet January. Some funny shots of her under the couch. We were a little late on the 5 month picture...but she's still a peanut!

December 2011

We had a big December. We went to Los Angeles with GG and Papa, Auntie Sarah, Uncle Dave and cousins Ronan and Mac and saw a bunch of family and friends. Roxy got to meet her namesake, Great Grandma Fay. We also got to see my dad, so she got some Grandpa and Nana time. They completely spoiled her with early Christmas presents. We also got to see some of Rachel's college friends - Tricia and her new baby Grace and Stacy and Tony and their kids Georgia and Piere.

Right before the holiday, Mommy took Roxy to work for the day. Check out the picture of her sleeping under my desk. Hehe!

Then we got to celebrate Christmas at GG and Papa's. Roxy was ridiculously spoiled yet again. We also started solid foods in December. She's still not sure about them... :)

Finally, we went out for an early sushi dinner with Sarah, Dave and the boys for New Year's Eve. Delish!

More November 2011

Right before Thanksgiving, Roxy started rolling over. Once she learned that trick, she was unstoppable. Rolling across the living room, the bedroom, often ending up under furniture.

She also took her first airplane flight in November - going to Pensacola, Fl to visit her Gooma (Grandma Jeannine), great-grandma GranMargaret, Auntie Kim and Uncle Ben and Cousin Ronan. She had a wonderful time.

Fun with mouth

Roxy is discovering all kinds of fun things to do with her mouth. These two videos show new discoveries - making sounds with her tongue between her lips and sucking on her bottom lip. The second one cracks me up every time :)

Those naughty hands!

Roxy has learned that sucking on her hands and fingers is soothing, but sometimes those naughty hands just wont cooperate and get in her mouth! She and I were sitting on the porch when they were being especially ornery.  Check out the evidence...

First days at school

Roxy started her transition to school this week. She is attending Family Star, a Montessori. Here are some pics of her there. It's been a lot harder on mama than it has on baby :)

First toy

It's been a week of firsts for the little lady. Today she held onto and "played" with a toy for the first time. Check out the evidence...

First vacation

We took Roxy on her first vacation earlier this week. Not too far - up to the mountains outside Denver. We stayed in Avon and visited Beaver Creek, Vail and Frisco. Oh, and shopping at the outlets in Silverthorne. Mom went a little nuts at the Carters outlet. The stuff was so cute! I may have a problem...

I love the pictures of dad eating with Roxy in the carrier. Note that her head is covered with a napkin. Smart!

2 months!

Roxy turned 2 months old on September 12. I know, sorta late on the post, but she's been a busy girl! Here are some comparison shots from 1 month to 2 months. Note the space she takes up in the basket. She's getting longer! But don't make fun of her butt. She's wearing a cloth diaper at 2 months. It makes her look like a pear :)

At 2 months she weighed 10lbs and was 22 inches long. Go munchkin!

Save the whale!

When Roxy is on her activity mat, she likes to wail on her whale. That poor creature takes a licking every day. Please don't turn her in to Greenpeace. She's so young!

She's obviously a genius

Check out Roxy reading this beautiful alphabet book to me (thanks Golds!). And in such a cute outfit (thanks Meyer Von Rohrs!). Ok, so I read it to her, but you can just FEEL the comprehension. Genius.

Chatty girl

Roxy is talking more and more these days. She oohs and ahhs and gurgles and is generally adorable. However, it's hard to catch these gems on video as evidenced by Take 1 below. Take 2 is better, but not as funny. Enjoy!

Over the last few weeks, Roxy has been grinning more and more. I keep trying to catch those gems on camera, but it's hard. And it also leads to pictures of all sorts of crazy Roxy faces.
